Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Grand Rapids, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Michigan run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hell yeah. Fuji Yama delivered. The chef was an absolute show. Super funny, fully locked into the whole routine, flipping, joking, and keeping the table laughing the entire time. Dude just gets it. Server was refreshingly direct. No fake smiling, no fluff, just solid service. Appreciated that. Tons of food, everything hit, and the whole vibe is perfect for birthdays or any night you want to actually have fun instead of just eating. Weβll be back. Highly recommend.

I went here yesterday for the first time with my boyfriend and I donβt think weβd go again. Firstly I want to say what I enjoyed. The atmosphere was very sleek and clean. Our seating and table was comfortable and the overall vibe of the restaurant was great. The food came out pretty quick and the quantity received wasnβt bad for the price. But hereβs where my issues rise, I did get food poisoning due to either the raw fish or steak which I never experience with these sort of restaurants. Iβm not sure if the fish wasnβt prepared right or the meat was bad but something about it wasnβt right. The fried rice was decent but kind of dry instead of that steamy texture and savory taste from the sauce. Now my main issue was the service and Iβve worked in food service a lot so I try to always have an open mind with the staff and try to help make their jobs easier however I can. But the server we got during the lunch shift yesterday seemed to be in a bad mood. She got pretty short with me when I asked for clarification on drinks and only came by to drop our food off. I usually tip 20% since my family comes from working with restaurants but the tip is suppose to be extra if the service was up

My daughters took me here for Mother's Day and it was the most amazing time!! Our chef Bobbi had us laughing and enjoying the whole night!! His sense of humor made my night!! The did was absolutely Devine!! Ordered the couples plate that I shared with my oldest and the scallops, lobster, steak, and shrimp were cooked to perfection!! We didn't know the others sitting at our table but that didn't matter the chef had us all interacting with each other!! If you've never experienced something like this then you must try it!! Definitely will be going back and requesting Bobbi!! Did I say the food was Amazing!!!

Amazing food as always. The sushi, ramen, and Thai dishes are all excellent and reasonably priced. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful, and the ginger salad dressing is truly the star of the show. The staff is very friendly, and our server did a wonderful job keeping our drinks full. She was attentive, sweet, and made sure we had everything we needed. The prices are great, the food is even better, and we will definitely be returning.
